The Editorial Board independently determines the order and timing of publication based on the scientific significance of the submitted materials and the quality of their preparation.The decision on publication or rejection of manuscripts is made based on peer review and the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope and thematic focus.

 The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts if they do not correspond to the journal’s scope, are of poor formatting quality, or fail to pass the peer-review process.The Editorial Board may make minor edits to manuscripts while adhering to publication ethics standards.

Authors are responsible for providing complete and accurate information about the authorship composition and for agreeing on all changes made to the manuscript after peer review.No publication fee is charged to authors. Peer review is not remunerated.

PEER REVIEW OF THE SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL “ECONOMIC SCIENCE TODAY”

1. All materials submitted for publication in the journal are checked using the “Anti-Plagiarism” system and are subject to mandatory peer review. This process is aimed at ensuring the high quality of publications and compliance of materials with academic standards.

2.Before sending a manuscript for peer review, the Editorial Board conducts an initial evaluation:

– the overall scientific quality of the work;

– the relevance of the topic to the journal’s declared scientific areas;

– compliance with general content requirements;

– compliance with bibliographic reference formatting standards;

– originality, clarity, and logical consistency of presentation.

If a manuscript does not correspond to the journal’s scope or fails to meet the established requirements, it may be rejected without peer review.

3. Articles that have passed the initial evaluation stage are subject to double-blind peer review, i.e. the identities of both authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other. A reviewer may be a member of the Editorial Board or another qualified specialist with relevant academic expertise and publications in a field closely related to the topic of the manuscript. In case of disputes, the article may be sent to more than two reviewers to obtain independent evaluations.

4. A positive peer review does not in itself guarantee publication of an article. The final decision on whether to include a manuscript in the journal is made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the opinion of the Editorial Board.

5. The peer reviewer’s scope of assessment includes:

– relevance of the stated research objective;

– scientific novelty of the study;

– theoretical and/or practical significance of the research;

– logical coherence and clarity of the article’s structure;

– scientific and theoretical level, including research methodology, problem formulation, analysis of scholarly viewpoints, and validity of conclusions;

– quality and completeness of the bibliographic references.

6. A review should include the following elements:
 – analysis of the manuscript content and an assessment of its suitability for publication in the journal;
 – detailed identification of methodological errors and issues in the applied tools (if any);
 – specific recommendations for improving the manuscript;
 – a general conclusion by the reviewer.

If the reviewer recommends the article for publication after revision with consideration of comments or does not recommend it for publication, the review must include the reasons for such a decision.

7. Reviewers are obliged to comply with the journal “Economic Science Today” editorial policy on adherence to ethical standards in peer review, based on the international guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers (ASEP).

8. Reviewers are obliged to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may arise during the peer review of a manuscript.

9. The editorial office does not assume responsibility for the timing of publication of submitted manuscripts. On average, 6 weeks elapse from the receipt of a manuscript by the editorial office to the completion of the peer-review process.

The final decision on the publication date is made in the course of routine scheduling and structuring of upcoming journal issues and is approved by the Editor-in-Chief.

Publishing Ethics

This section is based on materials from Elsevier, the scientific and medical publishing house, and the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All articles submitted for publication in the journal "Economic Science Today" are peer-reviewed for originality, ethicality, and significance. In the event of significant issues with credibility, logic, or academic integrity, the editors may reject the author's article.

Adherence to ethical standards is important for all parties involved in publication: authors, journal editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

  1. Authors' Responsibilities.

1.1 By submitting a manuscript to the journal "Economic Science Today," the author confirms that the submitted material is original. This means that the work has not been previously published and is not under consideration by other journals. If the study is based on material previously presented in the form of reports or preprints, the author is obligated to notify the editors accordingly.

1.2 Authors should include only those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the concept, design, execution, or interpretation of the study, and who are also responsible for the study. This should be reflected in the "Author Contributions" section of the manuscript. To accurately identify contributions, it is recommended to use the CRediT – Contributor Roles Taxonomy scheme. The corresponding author must ensure that the author list contains only the original authors and does not include anyone unrelated to the work. They must also ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the article and consented to its publication in the journal "Economic Science Today." The corresponding author must inform their co-authors of any changes to the article.

1.3 If significant errors or inaccuracies are discovered in a previously published work, the author is obligated to promptly notify the editors and facilitate the publication of appropriate corrections or a retraction of the article.

1.4 Authors guarantee the absence of plagiarism in any form. The use of other authors' work must be documented with appropriate citations and references, and the volume of citations must be justified by the purpose of the citation. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of citations and bibliographic data.

1.5 Authors must avoid self-plagiarism and excessive self-citation and correctly cite their previous research. Reusing the same data without proper acknowledgment of the source is considered unacceptable.

1.6 Authors must present the results of their research with integrity, without manipulation or distortion of data. Integrity in scientific work is a fundamental principle.

1.7 Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. Authors must disclose research funding and potential conflicts of interest in the appropriate "Acknowledgments" and "Conflicts of Interest" sections.

  1. Responsibilities of the Editorial Board.

2.1 The editorial board of the journal must ensure objectivity and impartiality in decision-making based on scientific criteria, without the influence of personal interests or bias. 2.2 The editorial board should foster honest scientific debate, encouraging open and constructive interactions between authors and reviewers to improve the quality of publications.

2.3 The editorial board is responsible for ensuring strict confidentiality of the personal information of authors and reviewers, as well as any information obtained during professional interactions.

2.4 The editorial board should make changes to the text of the article only after consultation with the authors, preserving the authors' original vision.

2.5 Manuscripts containing material previously published by other authors without proper citation of the original source must be rejected.

2.6 If significant errors or omissions are discovered after publication, the editorial board is obligated to publish appropriate notices to inform readers.

2.7 The editorial board must take appropriate measures in response to any ethical complaints related to the review or publication process of articles.

  1. Responsibilities of Reviewers.

3.1 Reviewers assist the Editor-in-Chief in making editorial decisions and also assist the author in improving the work.

3.2 Each manuscript submitted for review must be treated as strictly confidential. Discussion of the contents of the work with third parties not authorized by the editorial board is strictly prohibited. 3.3 A reviewer should not review a manuscript if there is a potential conflict of interest related to the published material, or if they are aware that they are not qualified to analyze the submitted manuscript or do not have sufficient time to complete the review within the established deadline. In these cases, the reviewer is obligated to promptly notify the editor and request to be excused from reviewing the work.

3.4 Reviewers should make every effort to identify published works not cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, provenance, or argument has previously been reported must be accompanied by an appropriate citation. The reviewer should also bring to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and another published work of which they are familiar.

3.5 Private information or ideas arising during the peer review process must remain confidential and may not be used by the reviewer for personal gain.

  1. Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

4.1. The Editorial Board of the scientific journal "Economic Science Today" shares the position of the international publishing community regarding the use of artificial intelligence in the preparation of scientific articles, as outlined in the following documents: Chatbots, Generative AI, and Scholarly Manuscripts, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Decision Making, and establishes the following rules regarding the use of generative AI tools for authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.

4.2. For Authors:

4.2.1. AI-based programs and tools do not meet the authorship requirements, as they are not responsible for the submitted work, cannot declare the presence or absence of a conflict of interest, or manage copyright, and cannot be listed as the author of an article.

4.2.2 The use of AI programs is permitted in article preparation (e.g., searching for additional sources of information, checking the grammatical correctness of the text, assisting with formatting literary sources). In such cases, the author is required to provide a reference (indicate the use of AI) in the "AI Use" section. The name of the AI software or platform, as well as the version of the tool (if any), must be included. If the tool was provided through third-party services, the author must indicate its name and the context of use. Authors should be aware that AI tools often provide false and unverified information. An algorithm is not capable of critically assessing the quality and authenticity of the obtained results; the author alone is responsible for the accuracy of the data used.

4.2.3 The use of AI tools for generating texts, tables, figures, and datasets is prohibited. An exception is made for articles in which AI is the object (subject) of the research.

4.2.4 When reviewing manuscripts, the editors use the "Antiplagiarism" system, which detects generated text.

4.2.5 Articles that do not contain references to the use of generative AI tools or contain fragments of text created using artificial intelligence will be rejected.

4.3. For reviewers:

4.3.1 The use of AI-based programs and tools for preparing reviews is prohibited. Uploading content to AI programs constitutes a violation of copyright and confidentiality.

4.3.2 If a reviewer suspects that authors are using AI tools (in the absence of appropriate citation), they should notify the journal's editorial board.

4.3.3 The editor and reviewer evaluate whether the text complies with the principles of academic integrity. If violations are detected, measures will be taken in accordance with the journal's policies.
