<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article examines the history of the creation of the GDP indicator and the System of National Accounts. The article analyzes the current dynamics of nominal GDP and GDP at purchasing power parity (PPP) in absolute terms and per capita in Russia, the USA, the UK, China and India. The critique of GDP as an indicator created for capitalist economies is examined. National inclusive wealth, which takes into account natural, human, social, produced and financial capital, has been proposed to replace GDP as a measure of welfare and wellbeing. The implementation of national inclusive wealth will enable to increase funding to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>ВВП</kwd><kwd>национальное счетоводство</kwd><kwd>Система национальных счетов</kwd><kwd>национальное богатство</kwd><kwd>инклюзивное богатство</kwd><kwd>экономический рост</kwd><kwd>устойчивое развитие</kwd><kwd>капитализм</kwd><kwd>неравенство доходов населения</kwd><kwd>статистика</kwd><kwd>США</kwd><kwd>Китай</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>GDP</kwd><kwd>national accounting</kwd><kwd>System of National Accounts</kwd><kwd>national wealth</kwd><kwd>inclusive wealth</kwd><kwd>economic growth</kwd><kwd>sustainable development</kwd><kwd>capitalism</kwd><kwd>income inequality</kwd><kwd>statistics</kwd><kwd>USA</kwd><kwd>China</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Landefeld, J.
